For the use of MacroScripts, once the script's been installed and the Max session restarted, Right-Click on a toolbar, hit 'Customize', and look for the newly added Category, select the macroscript, then drag'n'drop the button onto a toolbar. For the use of plug-in scripts, the script shall be set into your stdplugs/stdscripts directory for regular use, otherzise, you can execute it from elsewhere. For any other script, simply run the script from the MaxScript menu, if nothing happens then, look into the MaxScript DropDownList in the Utility panel ... 3dsmax 4.0+ Script Packages (.MZP) Script Packages (.mzp) is a new feature in 3dsmax 4.0, along with the new DropScript (.ds), it allows MaxScripters to release their scripts as packages, which is a lot easier to install for the users. A Script Package (.mzp), is in fact a Zip Archive, except that its extension has been changed, and that it contains a text file, called 'mzp.run', that tells 3dsmax how to install the whole package. note to internet explorer users: when downloading .mzp files from my site, they may save as .mzp.zip instead. If this happens to you, just rename them back to .mzp MZPs are now zipped to allow them thru my provider. do not: put those MZP in Startup Script Directory, Plugin Directories, Ui/Macroscript Directory Once you have downloaded those, in 3dsmax pulldown menus, go to MaxScript/Run Script, and pick that .mzp file. It'll install the package, and give you some directions on how to use it. All of this apply to most of the Script Packages you may happen to find. installing a brush set for the freehand tools Just save the .brush file into your \3dsmax4\scripts\MaxFreeHandTools\Brushes\ directory and restart 3dsmax.
